Hickman Elementary School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and Council on Accreditation and School Improvement. It has also met the requirements of No Child Left Behind and is a school in Good Standing. The school receives Title I funds to enhance learning opportunities for students. The staff members are creative and highly qualified. The work of the school is supported by devoted PTA members.
The school is organized into 22 general education classrooms for children in kindergarten through 4th grade, two classrooms for Communication & Behavior Intervention Programs, two Life Skills Programs, one Pre-K Life Skills Program and one Pre-K Blended Program. The school shares a campus with Donelson Middle School, which offers a nurturing transition to middle school.
